attila got a reaction from Anthocyanina in Analog Discovery 3 information
Hi @bean
USB SS (3) would probably have increased the price.
AD3 pros vs AD2
- USB-C, more power
- adjustable system frequency between 50-125MHz
- reference clock IO
- high precision trigger position, Scope and Logic Analyzer
- 2X and shared scope buffer, with one channel enabled provides 64Ki samples (4X)
- 2-4X buffer for the other instruments
- higher record rate, up to 10MHz with one channel
- 16 bit averaged scope sampling
- more Scope channels: Wavegen 'digital' output readback and FIR filter on scope inputs
- Wavegen: FM or phase modulation and AM or signal summing
- Scope to Wavegen in device routing, signal, AM/PM, FM/SUM
- DIO/Trig drive/slew adjustment
- more power for adjustable supplies
- supply voltage readback
- supplies can be used as 'slow' Wavegen channels from all configurations

attila got a reaction from xdcxx in AD2 suddenly fails
Hi @xdcxx
The abs max for USB controllers and related ICs is usually 5.5V and the shield is a different topic.
I don't know exactly what could be wrong with this device.
For warranty and replacement contact the support.digilent @ ni.com specifying the Date of Purchase, Seller and Purchase Order/ Web order Number.

attila reacted to Pauluck in Does the Analog Discovery 2 & 3 have 14 bit hardware vertical resolution.
The answer is yes
WaveForms Help is already available in Beta, with a hardware resolution of 14bit, and even up to 16bit at low speeds.
WaveForms has all the features you want, so you should download it and try it out.
It looks pretty good except for the price.
I can't wait to try it

attila got a reaction from Mathias G. in Generated a clock on pin DIO and start separately a sequence by a trigger signal
Hi @Mathias G.
Unfortunately no.
You can have multiple Pattern Generators open but only one can control the digital-out device resource at a time.
In the device there is one digital-out instrument which controls all the digital outputs.
The DIOs are multiplexed in the device and the StaticIO (digital-io) has priority over the digital-out but the digital-io only provides static output control.

attila got a reaction from KTP in Python SDK hardware Interrupts?
Hi @KTP
There is not interrupt function.
You should use polling or the device trigger and instrument features for quick actions.

attila reacted to nad in Discovery 2 Board Using Trigger as Sampling Clock?
Thank you so much!
It's working now, I was testing on "Normal" mode I guess it was the reason or I wasn't waiting enough to see samples(I used 10Hz sample frequency before).

attila got a reaction from Danny Cote in Need to record 2 signals using ADP3250 logic analyzer at 125Ms/s for at least 20ms
Hi @Danny Cote
The newer software version with ADP3X50 lets you capture 128Mi samples on 1-4 channels all up to 125MHz.

Hi @Marco_s_indiotech
The API does not yet support FDCAN.

attila got a reaction from m72 in Logic Detector as trigger in Scope. Is it possible?
Hi @m72
1,2, fixed for the next build
You can enter higher frequency (like 125MHz) for DD.
Thank you for the observation.

attila reacted to Simone in Leftover bits in SPI communication (Waveforms)
Thanks! it worked, it was crosstalk
-
attila got a reaction from Simone in Leftover bits in SPI communication (Waveforms)
Hi @Simone
The SPI is configured for interpret 16 bits / word and it looks like it detects not multiple of this during a CS active cycle.
This could be caused by: grounding issue, crosstalk between wires or ringing on clock signal.
Use the Logic Analyzer to have more information.

attila got a reaction from Noah Faust in Unreliable data collection with AD2
Hi @Noah Faust
Try using another USB port, on a root hub that is not shared with other devices.
The AD2 with 2nd configuration has twice the analog-in (Scope) device buffer/fifo.
# 2nd configuration for Analog Discovery with 16k analog-in buffer
dwf.FDwfDeviceConfigOpen(c_int(-1), c_int(1), byref(hdwf))
Depending on the system, the recording should work up to 1-2MHz.

attila reacted to Shalin in Serial Wire Debug(SWD) and JTAG analyzer
Hello Attila,
I have added the SWD clear function and reinstalled the Waveform beta which includes the updated SDK. Now, I am getting the correct output in LabView when I read a address.
Thank you so much for solving the issue in such a short time span.

Thank you very much for further information.
I will try the code you suggested tomorrow.
Best regards.

attila reacted to lyms in Different analog measurement results between AD2 and ADP3450
Hi @attila,
The problem has been solved.
I asked the manufacturer of the DUT for impedance specs, and they answered that the impedance of the DUT is 50 ohms.
So, I added a terminator to the input port and suppressed the signal jumps.
Thank you!

attila got a reaction from Sangkyu Choi in I measure impedance with AD2, but I don't know where to put the reference resistor.
Hi @Sangkyu Choi
This is what I measure on a 1k 5% (DUT) with IA adapter which uses the same DUT-ReferenceResistor setup:
