JTAG-HS3, FT232 chip erased

twister

Question

Hello, I have used the digilent JTAG-HS3 programmer simultaneously with other device with FT232H chip and I have probably erased by accident the FT232 chip on Digilent module or there is a problem with drivers - the device is still recognized as Digilent USB serial converter by the system so I think is not damaged, but the cable is not visible in xilinx software. Could you please help me?

Hello,

I'm also having similar issues where my JTAG-HS3 isn't detectable through Vivado after trying to program an FT232H using FT_Prog. If I could get instructions on how to restore my JTAG-HS3, that would be great.

Thanks.

Hi @jstandifer,

I have sent you a PM.

Thanks,

My JTAG-HS3 Rev. A is not recognized as Digilent anymore. Linux reports "0403:6014 Future Technology Devices International, Ltd FT232H Single HS".

Can you send me instructions to restore my HS3?

Hi @f.b.,

Unfortunately, there are not any instructions restore the EEPROM settings for Linux based systems, only Windows. I don't know if this is available to you or not.

In terms of it not being detected, what do you see when you run dmesg? You should see a similar output as mentioned in this thread here: https://forum.digilent.com/topic/25341-cant-detect-hs2-programmer-on-ubuntu/

Thanks,
JColvin

I can also use Windows, no problem. Can you please send me instructions on how to restore the HS3?

On Linux, is is not simply a case of driver selection and udev. The HS3 really is not programmed as a genuine Digilent HS3 anymore.

HI,

I'm in the same boat but with a CMOD A7 , I messed arround with FT_prog and forgot to desellect the FPGA board FTDI when writing a eeprom config 🤦‍♂️.
I tryed to use Vivado Tcl with "program_ftdi" to create an JTAG prob from a FT2232 chip but that did not work completely. The hardware manager was able to see the FTDI as a JTAG prob but coudent see the ARTIX-7

Is it fixable @JColvin ?
