Hi @elimelech,

I do not believe Digilent has any 3D models created for the Eclypse Z7, though there are mechanical diagrams for both the Eclypse Z7 and the base "pod" of the Zmods available on the Eclypse Z7 Resource Center: https://digilent.com/reference/programmable-logic/eclypse-z7/start#additional_resources.

There are mechanical drawings for each Zmod (both Scope and AWG) available at the bottom of their Resource Centers as well, https://digilent.com/reference/zmod/scope/start#additional_resources and https://digilent.com/reference/zmod/awg/start#additional_resources, though of course these are not 3D models. I will ask about the renders that are prominently displayed on each Zmod Resource Center since those would have come from a 3D model of some kind, though I have not personally seen these models.

Thanks,
JColvin

Thanks JColvin,
I (almost) found there what I was looking for (https://digilent.com/reference/_media/reference/programmable-logic/eclypse-z7/eclypsez7_pcbas_a5.pdf)
But I wish to get the 3D model, appears in a picture, as .step or other 3D formats.

can you share it ?

Elimelech.

Hi @elimelech,

I am waiting to hear back if some 3D models can be provided.

On the chance that you are intending to create an enclosure based off of the 3D models (I don't know what you actually intending to use them for), Digilent does have an aluminum enclosure kit designed for the Elcypse Z7 and two Zmods; https://digilent.com/shop/eclypse-z7-enclosure-kit/.

Thanks,
JColvin

JColvin,
I appreciate your efforts! The mechanical modeling is needed to integrate the board as-is in a dense mechanical and electrical design.
No need for enclosure, as it will block some of the mezzanine boards and adaptors intended to be use.
Looking forward to hear if you got something.
Thanks a lot,
Elimelech

Hi @elimelech,

It took awhile, but I was able to get 3D models for the two Zmods; I uploaded them to their respective Resource Centers (https://digilent.com/reference/zmod/scope/start and https://digilent.com/reference/zmod/awg/start).

If I end up getting a model of the Eclypse Z7, I will be sure to let you know.

Thanks,
JColvin

Hello,

I am letting you know that I have not forgotten about the request for the 3D model of the Eclypse Z7; I am still waiting for the layout engineer to have some free cycles to be able to create it. Some of the initial exports of the model did not have the mounting holes in the correct locations, which I imagine is fairly critical to have in a 3D model (though the mounting hole locations on the Eclypse Z7 are in the mechanical file if that ends up being sufficient for you and you are mostly just interested in the height component of some of the larger components on the Eclypse Z7 itself).

Thanks,
JColvin

Hi @elimelech,

Two different 3D models of the Eclypse Z7 are now available in it's Resource Center: https://digilent.com/reference/programmable-logic/eclypse-z7/start#additional_resources. One model has more details in the components themselves but less visible components overall (leaving out things like the various resistors and capacitors that are close to the boards surface). The other model includes a lot more components, but they are instead blocky extrusions from the PCB with almost no detail, though both models are accurate in their dimensions.

Thanks,
JColvin

Hello JColvin,

could you please provide me with dimensions of "Eclypse Z7 Enclosure Kit"?

Thank you in advance. Sincerely Marek Buben.
