AaronF
I am a sophomore in an electrical engineering program, and I would like to know what software I need for your starter kit/boards priced between 0 and $300. The boards and software must run on Windows 10 Pro and use VHDL. Note that Xilinx (Vivado) does not work on this computer; I don’t know why. As an FYI, my school uses the BASY 3, Artix-7 FPGA. Something similar to this would be appreciated. Thanks
Digital.Dilettante
Aaron, Just got the Basys3 with the node locked Vivado design edition working on Windows 10 Home. While the OS is not technically supported by Xilinx yet, I managed to get the 2015.4.1 version working with the help of the below thread. The trick is ensuring the the latest Visual C++ Redistributable is installed first. https://forums.xilinx.com/t5/Embedded-Development-Tools/Windows-10-SDK-2015-1-Sadness/td-p/647823 Hope this helps. JColvin
Alternatively, it looks like you can change some of the Vivado files on your computer as well (as per our own forum thread).
