RasPi DAQ HATs with Counter Input?

cshill

Question

Do any of the Raspberry Pi DAQ HATS come with a counter input channel?  From what I can tell, none of them do.  Does anyone have experience measuring encoder signals with a RasPi DAQ HAT from MCC?  Any recommendations for other HATs for RasPi that work well with incremental encoders?

There's no support for encoders in the Daqhat product line. Instead, you could consider interfacing with the USB-1808X and using the UL for the Linux driver. The USB-1808X has two counter channels that can count and measure frequency. It also has two additional counters specifically for quadrature encoders. Not to mention eight analog inputs that can be individually set to single-ended or differential mode.
