zybo-z7 Mipi speed?

mdale_photonicscience

Question

Hi,

I have purchased a zybo-z7 development board and would like to know if the MIPI camera interface will work at 1.5gbps/lane the latest Vivado mipi_csi2_rx_subsyst allows you to select this speed as an option but will the hardware allow this speed. I noticed that the z-7020 does not have any high-speed transceivers in it. What is the maximum speed for the MIPI input.

Thanks

Michael

As per manual:

The MIPI CSI-2 bus is passively terminated on the Zybo Z7 and connected directly to the Zynq PL. The guidelines described in Xilinx application note  XAPP894 D-PHY solutions were followed in order to implement a compatible D-PHY receiver using the Zynq. The interface is tested to operate at up to 672 Mbps on each lane. Speeds up to 950 Mbps on each lane are possible based on the Zynq-7000 timing specifications, however they are not validated on the Zybo Z7.

So no 1.5 Gbps. Also watch out for the pinout - it seems like each MIPI device's manufacturer feels an obligation to invent his own pinout and ensure it's not compatible with any other devices.
