Temperature Noise on USB-TC

MattA

Question

Hi,

I am experiencing measurement noise from Type K TCs connected to a USB-TC measurement computing device.  The oscillations are +/-0.05C sawtooth oscillations with 1 minute periods.  I don't believe this represents real temperature oscillations, but is likely the result of some other effect.  Does anybody have suggestions of how to go about troubleshooting this issue?  Untitled.thumb.jpg.73e1573db989b5068d3dd8a94e104f7d.jpg

thx

Matt

Hello,

A typical steady state temperature can move around due to noise on the input and on the thermocouple. However, 0.05 Degrees C is well within the accuracy of the device. My suggestion is to display data to one decimal place, which is more inline with it ability.

Best regards,

John
