Record and playback a Pattern

Hello,

I am using Digital Discovery 2 with Waveforms.

Is it possible to capture a pattern with the Logic Analyzer and use it as a in the Pattern Generator?

I have moved your question to a more appropriate section of the Forum where the engineer most experienced with the WaveForms software will be able to see and respond to your question.

One thing I would like to clarify though is if you have a an Analog Discovery 2 or a Digital Discovery (there is currently not a Digital Discovery 2). I know it is possible do this through record mode or the logging function within the Logic Analyzer and then load a custom value which you can select the recorded file for in the Pattern Generator, though I do not know all of the intricacies associated with this.

With any device you can export data from Logic Analyzer and import in Pattern Generator as custom pattern.

 

For Digital Discovery it was recently added the possibility to generate large data samples with Logic Analyzer "Play" Mode, see:

I have one more question...

Is it possible to synchronize a Pattern in the Pattern Generator to an external clock?

The Pattern Generator can be synchronized with internal (other instruments) or external trigger signals.
