license file to be used with windows 8

Hello people, I am encountering a problem when i am trying to acquire a free license file...I am using Windows 8 and maybe the license i am trying is just not compatible with my windows...any suggestion where i can get the required license file??

Hi, The Nexys3 board is Spartan 6 based, so the correct toolset to use is Xilinx ISE Webpack. Officially ISE doesn't support Windows 8 - it crashes every time a dialog box opens!

But instructions on a fix can be found at many places (once you know what to Google for - "Xilinx ISE WIndows 8 fix" was what I used to find these three)

I have a couple of clarifying questions before anybody will be able to effectively help you.

What license file are you referring to? A Vivado license? What board are you using?

Yes I am trying to get the Vivado license...The board I am using is the Nexys3..I got a link explaining the changes to be made but though I am unable to get this done.
