Zybo compilation :ERROR: Failed to source bitbake

Hi,

I have installed petalinux sdk project for zybo kit.

When i try to do petalinux-config, i am getting "ERROR: Failed to source bitbake".

xilinx-zc702-2016.4$ petalinux-config
[INFO] generating Kconfig for project

[INFO] menuconfig project
/home/esm2/zproject/xilinx-zc702-2016.4/build/misc/config/Kconfig.syshw:30:warning: defaults for choice values not supported

[INFO] sourcing bitbake
ERROR: Failed to source bitbake
ERROR: Failed to config project.

but bitbake is installed in the path.

 

Can anyone hint me to solve this issue.

Hi @diya-,

Unfortunately we have not moved to Petalinux 2016 yet. I did find a few threads that discuss this issue and what they had to do to fix it here and here. Here is the PetaLinux Tools Documentation pdf if you havent seen it yet.

Means ?? Then How do you build the sdk project and port it in Zybo ?

Is there any other way to build the sdk project ?

Sorry, I tried all this link but dint help me . My environmental script path is correct but still it fails in sourcing bitake.

 I have reached our to one of our more experience embedded Linux engineers about your issue. I am sorry for the confusion with my previous post. We have limited support for PetaLinux 2016.4. Currently we are supporting PetaLinux 2015.4. If you were interested in using 2015.4 then here is a quick start guide for PetaLinux 2015.4. Here is a Instructable for the Getting started with Petalinux. Here is the PetaLinux Tools Documentation Reference Guide for 2015.4.

Hi,

Can you tell which is stable release petalinux 2016 or petalinux 2015 .

And also is their any other files to be download other than below,

PetaLinux 2015.4 Source code

ZC702 BSP  -> Is this support all Z series processor eg:- ZC7010 the one used in ZYBO kit

When should i need to install PetaLinux 2015.4 Source code ?

I guess ZC702 BSP will have all kernel,u-boot,filesystem, dtb source .
