Hi,

Is RLE supported when storing data to SDRAM. Is there any restriction on sampling rate when RLE is is used?

If RLE is not supported is there any other method to use the relatively limited storage effectively when we have high speed blocks with long interim silent periods

Unfortunately, I have not worked with data compression. I have reached out to my co-workers to see if the is more potential input. I did find some IP's for vivado that deal with data compression here.

I've done a lot of work with data compression, but I thought this was a question about scopes and instruments.  Wouldn't an AD or DD expert be more appropriate than a Vivado expert?

Hi @Gyulat,

I missed that this was talking about our scopes. Thanks @D@n! In WaveForms software the number of digital samples is limited because this does not use data compression. We might add such feature in distant future as per the forum thread here. I also am tagging the engineer that will be able to give you the best response( @attila).
