My team uses the Universal Scan application to perform boundary scan and programming of devices on our custom boards. The HS2 cable is one of several recommended cables that the Universal Scan vendor recommends. Using these two products together, we have discovered that the clock (TCK) frequency is not configurable via the Universal Scan GUI. After contacting the Universal Scan vendor about this, they claimed that the Diglient HS2 cable has a set clock speed and cannot be configured. However after looking at the HS2 datasheet and the Digilent Adept SDK, it looked like we could change the clock via one of the APIs.
After creating a simple test app to change the clock, we try running the test app in conjunction with running Universal Scan and we continue to get the error code = 3 when attempting to open the JTAG device. Running the test app with Universal Scan app closed, we are able to open the JTAG device just fine. It appears that only one application can have the device handle open at any given time.
Is there a recommended way to change the clock speed of the JTAG HS2 in a separate application from the Universal Scan application, such that when we launch Universal Scan the clock speed settings are retained?
