AD3 and Waveforms and higher voltages

sng2024

Question

Hello,

I recently purchased an AD3 and am learning to use it. One of the "limitations" I have come across is the voltage capability both in generating and in measuring of anything greater than 5V. What will I need to be concerned with if -

1. I have a circuit requiring voltages in the order of + and - 15 to 25V or even higher and drawing large currents

2. I need to measure such voltages and currents (dc and ac)

The circuits will be supplied externally by their own power supplies and input signals will supplied by external sources and these easily exceed the 5V limit.

A x10 probe could probably assist in the measurement, but, is it possible to setup Waveforms to automatically do the divide by 10 for every input?

Irrespective of the math ability, I would be concerned about the voltage levels should any of the ports come in contact with the high voltages. How can I isolate the AD3 in such an environment? Am I making sense and am I expecting too much?

Thanks.
