BNC Adapter not working at all

I purchased the BNC Adapter some time ago and never used it until a couple days ago.  I had not even opened the package.

I have both a discovery 2 and 3.

Both the discovery 2 and 3 work fine without the BNC adapter. However if I plug in the adapter neither the probes or the lead on the coming off the adapter work.  It's like I have nothing connected to the discovery 2 or 3.

Is there some type of set up step I missing?  Or do I have a defective adapter.?  I'm sure the return window is closed on this adapter, but I looking to be sure I not missing a step before I order another adapter.

Set the jumpers behind the BNC connector to DC.
