E-TC IP configuration software

Rong

Question

Hello,

I apologize if this is not the right place to ask this question. Is "InstaCal" the only software that can do the initial IP address configuration for E-TC?

I am asking because we don't have windows PC on hands, and InstaCal is for windows. We can get windows if we have to, but would like to check it first.

I installed the UL APIs for linux https://github.com/mccdaq/uldaq, but I could not figure out any of them can do initial IP address configuration of a new E-TC.

Thanks you for your attention,

Rong

If the E-TC is not networked and connected to the computer, it should auto-link to an address like 169.254.100.100. Then, the standard examples will work. I've used the command arp -a to list IPs when on a network. Please be sure to look for a device name that begins with E-TC-xxxxxx. The xxxxxx is the last six digits of the MAC address. Once you have the IP, run the remote net discovery example program to learn how to get the device handle. If you need to assign a fixed address, you must use the InstaCal utility.
