Behavior after power-cycle? Analog Discovery 3 - waveform generator

Massachusetts10

Question

Hello, We are considering purchasing an Analog Discovery 3 to generate waveforms to control a piece of equipment. As power losses happen from time to time (i.e.: what if there's a power failure?), it is important to know what state the Analog Discovery 3 "wakes up" in when power is restored. Specifically: if it was generating a periodic waveform at a certain voltage range, and the building's power goes out, and comes back on again, what will the Analog Discovery 3 output? If a computer is required to re-enable the output, will it remember the waveform's settings, or will it revert to and also enable a default of some sort?

Thank you!

Hi @Massachusetts10

The WaveForms application has an auto-reconnect/resume feature on device reconnect.

Note the AWGs on Analog Discovery 1,2,3 output a glitch on power up and shutdown. Mostly caused by the output driver's supply ramp up/down.
The AWG outputs on ADP3X50 have a relay for output decoupling to prevent such.
