Hardware suggestions - PCI to USB

George Legge

Question

I’ve been using a PCI-DAS6402/16 data acquisition card for a number of years with not much issue.  I’m now looking at replacing my computer with a machine that does not have a PCI slot.  Can you recommend a replacement USB data acquisition card that is compatible with Dasylab 2016, but with similar specs as the DAS6402/16.  I need at least 8 differential inputs, outputs are not critical.  Note that if the optimum match requires an upgrade from Dasylab 2016 to Dasylab 2022, please include that as an option.

Only our USB-2533 board comes close to your requirements. It has 64 single-ended or 32 differentially-ended channels and independent programmable ranges. If you could somehow find a way around needing eight differential inputs, the USB-2637 is our long-term option. It's single-ended only with a fixed +/- 10-volt input range.

Just so you know, switching from PCI to USB will be slower if your application uses single-point operations.
