miketranch
I already have AD2 and am considering AD3 as well, particularly interested in FIR filters in acquisition system and local loopback to AWG. If AD2 and AD3 can be used together, reasonably seamlessly, that would seal the deal. As I understand it, Waveforms can control one Analog Discovery at a time, but multiple instances of Waveforms can be run under Windows. So multiple Analog Discoveries can be used at same time, but their data will be in separate windows. Ideally all four waveforms could be plotted, zoomed, measured, input to math waves, as one virtual 4 channel scope. Is there a way to merge the data stream from multiple waveforms instances? 0 attila
Hi @miketranch Newer WaveForms version can control two identical devices, doubling Scope, AWG and Digital channels. It is recommended to be used with AD3, ADP3X50 or newer devices which support clocking IO. With AD1, 2... the clock is not synchronized. It is not supported with ADP5250 and DD. See in WFs / Help tab, Device Manager and AD3 info.
0 JColvin
To add on to this, Attila did try to add a reference clock output to the AD2 to enable the AD2 + AD3 Dual Mode possibility (as per the last post in this thread: https://forum.digilent.com/topic/26663-dual-mode-ad2ad3-potential-implementation/) but there was not room within the FPGA for this additional logic.
