USB-2416 Series Questions

Question

Posted

Does it accept 4-20mA signals?

Does it take +/- 10V signals?

Would it be possible to connect your system to Matlab and get the data out here? If so, how?

The USB-2416 analog input does not measure current. However, if you employ a 250-ohm shunt resistor, it can measure the voltage drop. In this case, 4mA will be 1 volt and 20mA will be 5 volts. For this case, you could use the 5-volt range. If you instead used a 500 ohm shunt resistor, use the 10-volt range. Here's a (very) short article about 4-20mA.

There is no MatLab. The following is a list of what they do support: https://www.mathworks.com/hardware-support/measurement-computing.html
