Analog Discover 2

mize6entprz

Question

I am using five Analog Discovery 2 boards in my system. All five boards are initially detected in the WaveForms software; however, after a few minutes, some of the devices drop off, and I get a tag "USB devices not recognized. When I power cycle all the devices reconnect, and after a few minutes, some devices drop off again; I get the same tag "USB devices not recognized. Can anyone help with this issue? Any effort to help resolve this issue would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi @mize6entprz,

Could you let me know a bit more about your setup?

  • What OS are you using
  • Which version of WaveForms are you using
  • How are the Analog Discovery 2 devices connected to your host computer (what kind of computer; laptop, desktop, etc)? Through a (powered/unpowered) hub, connected to a root host controller on your computer, etc?

My initial guess from your description is that you have multiple devices connected to the same port and are running into a power limitation, but I can't tell for certain based on your description.

Thanks,
JColvin

Hi JColvin

Good morning. I am using a Dell computer operating on Windows.

I am using version 3.20.1

The analog devices (3) are connected to a USBGear 10 port 3.2 hub. A USB connector from the hub is connected to my computer. After more troubleshooting, is looks like either my USB cable is defective, or the panel mount USB 3.0 is female to female. I will look into his issue and reach out if I am still having issues. Thank you for all your efforts.
