AD3 probe compensation for newbie ?

nurber3

Question

Hi Forum.  I see the Waveforms directions for  performing this, but I'm realizing I have only two passive probes and believe I cannot accurately compensate one probe using another probe connected to AWG output ?  BNC pins do not pass-through to MTE header so although I can ground to MTE header I'll need to find another way to get to pin of AWG ?  Any resources on the subject welcome.

Thank you

Hi forum.  I've performed the compensation on two identical passive probes that I own.  Unlike a few videos I watched and the images from replies to this thread I'm unable to get a flat response using the trimmer.  I believe this trimmer is referred to as LF.  There is also another trimmer at the BNC which I think is referred to as HF, but I can find nothing about it and it doesn't accept the included flat head that works on LF trimmer so I'm not sure if I should adjust.  Cheap probes or can I do better with HF trimmer ?  First network analyzer I've ever used, very cool feature.

Thanks for answering.  I see a compensation range of 10pF - 35pF for the probes in question ( specs below ) which I'm guessing inadequate ?  Are the specifications required for probes published somewhere on site ( I couldn't find ) ?
