Programming Xilinx CPLD

Hi 

Can I program Xilinx CPLD: XC9572XL-10VQG64I by using iMPACT software and 

JTAG-HS3 Programming Cable - Digilent? Does this Programming cable has built in programmer?

Hi @Amina,

Unfortunately you cannot program the 9500XL CPLDs with the JTAG HS3, as per the list of supported devices that Xilinx curated and provided to Digilent: https://digilent.com/reference/programmers/jtag-hs3/reference-manual#supported_target_devices.

The only cable that Digilent has that can target and configure the 9500/9500XL CPLDs is the XUP USB-JTAG Programming Cable: https://digilent.com/shop/xup-usb-jtag-programming-cable/. Make sure that you have an appropriate OS that supports ISE to configure this device as the Windows 10 variant of ISE 14.7 only supports Spartan 6 devices.
