0 DAQman
Hey Rob, The USB-2408 uses FIRSTPORTA, and the USB-TEMP-AI is AUXPORT. There's no provision to remap one to the other. What software are you using? Best regards, John
0 Rob Caruso
Hi John, Thanks for the response, I hope you are doing well. We have developed UI software for our device that communicates directly with the DAQ. Since the older USB=2408 models are no longer shipping, we had to swap in the USB-TEMP-AI model. Now, we can no longer obtain Digital IO values and are assuming that is the cause. Analog IO is fine. Does it make sense that this would be the cause? If so, is there any possible workaround? 0 DAQman
Hi Rob, If all USB-2408 channels are set to thermocouple mode, you can read temperatures using the Tin and TinScan function. The USB-TEMP-AI also uses Tin and TinScan. However, the digital IO is different, and the only workaround is to modify the software so that when it detects a USB-TEMP-AI, it uses AUXPORT instead of FIRSTPORTA for the digital IO. The USB-2408 is out of stock (16 weeks) but we do have USB-2408-2AO units available. Best regards, John
0 Rob Caruso
Hi John, Modifying the software to fit the change in names is a problem for us. Is the USB-2408-2AO comparable and does it use the same port names? Thanks, Rob
0 DAQman
The USB-2408-2AO is a USB-2408 but with two addition analog output channels. If your software uses the InstaCal board number, then you could use the USB-2408-2AO. You would only have to ensure that the board number is the same. -John
0 Rob Caruso
Hi John, I will have to research the board number question. Are you saying the board number is the same on both models though? Thank you. Rob
0 DAQman
InstaCal assigns numbers to devices as it finds them. The numbers begin at zero and go up. Any device could be board number zero. I've found another option for you. Omega.com sells the USB-2408. They label it the OMB-DAQ-2408, but it's the same as the USB-2408. Their website indicates they have 34 pcs in stock. https://www.omega.com/en-us/data-acquisition/data-acquisition-modules/omb-daq-2408-series/p/OMB-DAQ-2408 John
