OpenAudioInput error???

RonM

Question

I bought and installed DasyLab today, and am having some difficulties.

I received an order confirmation email but not a license key. I selected the trial version so I could get started - comparatively minor issue

I mimicked a colleague's configuration, but cannot acquire data. When I press play an error box appears: "OpenAudioInput(1): The specified format is not supported or cannot be translated. Use the Capabilities function to determine the supported formats." I have not knowingly configured any audio for this setup.

When I add a DDE Output module to create a running Excel file as my colleague's setup does, DasyLab returns a different error: "Cannot create DDE link."

/I ran Instacal before trying to set this up, and verified the USB-201 connection to the PC with the Flash LED function, then left Instacal running.  DAQami recognizes the module, and responds when I introduce voltage from a battery.

A screenshot of the configuration without the DDE module is attached. The analog input module is set to 1Hz and +/- 10V input. The average module is set for 60 values to deliver 1 minute averages.

7/6/2023 update: I updated the software and firmware. At first, DasyLab was logging zeros, even when I connected a 9V battery to the active channel (Ch0) but inexplicably, the audio input error returned.  The analog check reads ~1.7V when nothing is connected to the analog inputs, and ~9.5V when I connect a 9V battery. I verified the 9.5V value with a handheld volt meter.  InstaCal Calibrate menu options are greyed out, so I am unable to perform that step, but I have left InstaCal running in the background.

MCC device: USB-201

DASYLab version 16.0.0, Build 501

InstaCal version 6.73

Windows OS version: Windows 11

Hardware/wiring: one 9v battery attached to Ch0 and Agnd0

Hello @RonM.

Thank you for the updated information.

After verifying your USB-201 module is detected by InstaCal, you should close InstaCal before launching another application, i.e. DAQami, DASYLab.

Next, launch DASYLab's Configurator to enable the Measurement Computing package.

Afterwards, close the Configurator and launch DASYLab.  You should be able to select the Analog Input module from the MCC-DRV branch for your worksheet.

Analog input channels should not be left open if selected in the application, otherwise the channel will read ~1.7 V as shown above.  A user should either ground the analog input channel or connect it to a voltage source, i.e. '+VO' screw terminal on the module.

We are getting closer, but I'm running into a roadblock when I run the Configurator. See the image below.  image.png.78a29f8f81a9577589ecda05b6e1741f.png
