Controlling DAQ (instacal) using labview

Liron Yitzhaki

Question

Hi,

I am using DAQ USB-234 and need to control the input mode and devices by name (ID) because I have several units.

I need to control the devices via LabVIEW and not with the Instacal SW.

Is there any VI or API that I can use?

The LabVIEW that I am using is 2014.

I understand that there is an GetBoard.vi that returns the board name, is there an option to obtain this VI?

Thanks in advance,

Liron

Hello @Liron Yitzhaki.

In order to use the USB-234 on your Windows OS system, with LabVIEW, you will need to download and install the MCC DAQ software.  The current download version (MCC DAQ v6.75) supports NI LabVIEW 2015 - 2023.  Please download and install MCC DAQ v6.73 to use with NI LabVIEW 2014.  https://mcc.download.ni.com/#Archive/MCCDAQ_CD/Archive_6.73/

MCC hardware must be installed and configured with InstaCal, before launching into LabVIEW.

The example programs are installed by default to 'C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW <version>\examples\ULx', where <version> is the NI LabVIEW version that is installed.  The help file 'lvulx.chm' is installed to 'C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW <version>\help', where <version> is the NI LabVIEW version that is installed.

Regards,

Fausto
