A Linux 6.2.13 Bug breaks Digilent programmer driver

Jiajie Chen

Question

Hi, we recently discovered that Linux 6.2.13 introduced a bug to prevent Digilent JTAG programmer driver from working. In summary, `dadutil` fails to mmap(MMAP_32BIT) due to regression in Linux 6.2.13. You may see the following error running `dadutil enum`:

ERROR: DmgrSetNetworkEnumTimeout failed, erc = 3090

And Vivado will not be able to recognize Digilent JTAG programmer. Hope this helps anyone using new Linux kernel for FPGA development.

The whole story can be found at How a Linux 6.2.13 BUG stops Vivado from recognizing FPGA

Hi @Jiajie Chen,

Thank you for sharing this; I don't think there will be much Digilent can do to address this (though I'm not a Linux expert, so I could be wrong on this), but I have let our Adept developer know about this on the off chance there is something we can do on our end.

Thanks,
JColvin
