Read Excel Data and Output a Voltage Set Up - DASYLab Help Needed

Jim Presley

Question

I am trying to set up DasyLab to read a value in Excel and Convert it to a 0 to 10 Volt Output or a 4 to 20 mAmp Output.

What I want to do is have it read a value and send it as a signal in the simplest most direct manner possible.

Here is the Excel Sheet I want to read.

The values in the Yellow Box are the signal I want to send out.

I have a USB-3104 to send the signal

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I can do a 1:1 phone consultation as well

I am a total beginner with both of these units

Thanks

Hello @Jim Presley.

A user must first configure the input channels on the USB-3104 module, in InstaCal.

Afterwards, close InstaCal and launch DASYLab.  In this case, I used DASYLab 2022.1 (v16.1.0.665).  Attached are the worksheet and a .csv data files.

A switch is connected to the Action module to read each value, in the .csv file, one value at a time.  This value is passed to the MCC Analog Output module (Dev1-Ao0) channel.

Hello @Jim Presley.

The USB-3104 has a maximum throughput of 100 Hz and is system dependent.  What is the sampling rate specified in the Measurement Setup?  From DASYLab's top menu, go to Measurement - Measurement Setup.

Also, what are the configurations of each module on the DASYLab worksheet?

Thank You so much!

After the tips and doing some of the video courses I have it set up and it is sending the required signal perfectly.

I verified it for every channel using a multimeter and then checked a simulated run by reprocessing  some files from previous tests and recording the outputs on a different Daq we routinely use on field projects for all 8 channels
