Using RTDs with USB-1208LS

Sophie

Question

Hi, I am trying to figure out how to set up data logging for my RTDs. I have 4-wire RTDs and 2-wire RTDs. I have a USB-1208LS DAQ already. Do I need to have the USB-TEMP model for this, or are USB-1208LS models compatible with RTDs as well? If they are compatible, how would I wire it?

Thank you,

Sophie

Hi Sophie,

The  USB-1208LS is not compatible with RTD sensors. You would need to purchase a signal conditioner for each channel to use it. The less expensive route is the USB-TEMP. It can read eight 4-wire or 2-wire RTD sensors. We also have a USB-TEMP-AI with fewer temperature inputs but additional voltage inputs.
