Error: Invalid digital port number

IPN Support

Question

Hello,

We would like to migrate InstaCal (and SC1-DAC software) from Win XP to Win 10.

We use an USB cable to connect Windows 10 to our apparatus (S-CPTU from Pagani).
Device (DAS component): USB-1208HS

We are able to install all software with no errors.
Connection tests from InstaCal to our apparatus is ok.

However, an error occurs when starting data acquisition from the apparatus:

Error: Invalid digital port number

We accessed your documentation (https://kb.mccdaq.com/exportpdf50121.aspx) about this error but could not resolve it.

Can anyone help us, please

  • InstaCal 6.72 (Board# 0 - USB-1208HS (186C74B))

Upgrading from InstaCal 6.27 to 6.72 should not have caused the error. Your device has one port designated AuxPort with a value of 1. The software uses AuxPort or 1 in the function call when it wishes to do something with it. Somehow upgrading makes our function think that your software is trying to access a different port. Doesn't make sense.

Your device is over ten years old, so there's a chance a firmware upgrade along the way did something. You could update the firmware to 1.7. https://www.mccdaq.com/firmware.aspx

Otherwise, I need to know what the software code is doing to do more.

Best regards,
John
