E-1608 digital out high voltage

rwilson

Question

I want to drive a device which specifies a minimum high voltage as 3.5V with a Digital output from an E-1608.  The device only draws micro Amps. The spec for the 1608 is 3.8V typical with no load.  This does not seem secure.  Can I put a pull up resistor to the 5V supply on the digital output and will that guarantee a higher output?

The E-1608 digital IO includes 47k ohm pull-up resistors that can be switched between pull-up, down and nothing via an internal jumper. So if your device draws microamps, I suspect it will work. As a frame of reference, my E-1608 digital output measures 4.8v with no load, and the resistors are configured as a pull-up.
