Digital Discovery & Time Synchronization

msherm27

Question

Hi,

I am building a PC that will be used for data capture of various sensors.

The captured sensor data will be used on a bench to inject the data into an micro Controller to simulate the environment conditions. (Hardware-in-the-Loop). Each captured sensor data must be highly sync'ed with the rest of the sensor data to ensure proper functionality.

The PC would be using the Digital Discovery's API.

Is the Digilent Digital Discovery's on-board clock capable of being controlled by the Host PC clock through this API?

Has the Digital Discovery been used in HiL environments before?

Thank you

Hi @msherm27,

The Digital Discovery is not able to use an external clock, though it is does have a Sync capture mode that may be what you are looking for:

The system clock internally used by the Digital Discovery can be controlled by the API though:

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,
JColvin
