analogDiscovery2 not recognized by WaveForms

jfemboeck

Question

Hi everyone,
since several days I have the problem, Waveforms do not find analog discovery 2. Until now it was working fine.
I use windows 10.
Done actions:

deinstall waveforms
New install

several time.

Ontime after new installation, it will show the device for several seconds and then it disappears again.

Anyone an idea what's the problem?
Many thx in advance for any help.

Josef

What FTDI driver version is your Win10 using? Have you read this thread? https://forum.digilent.com/topic/23869-vivado-does-not-recognize-my-boards-anymore/

I don't how Digilent programs the EEPROM for their FTxxxx devices. It could be that you are having the same issue described in the link above. It could be that your FTDI EEPROM was erased, though this is unlikely.

The FTDI FT_PROG utility can be used to read the contents of these EEPROMs. I recommend that no one tries to reprogram them unless they are absolutely sure that they know what they are doing. You can accidentally ruin a fair number of USB product this way.

Hallo Zygot,

many thx for your answer. In meantime I solve it.

  1. I deinstall all FTDI driver with CDMUninstaller downloaded from FTDI page
  2. Open device manager and select  "show hidden devices"
  3. Then I deinstall all unused devices
  4. Restart computer
  5. deinstall wave forms
  6. Reinstal wave forms

and then it works......

It seems there was some driver he blocked the communication. Finally I dont now in detail the really reason.
but it doesn't matter if it works now...
Thanks for your answer.
