USB-SSR08 and ULx for NI LabVIEW

travisn

Question

I’m working on replicating a project that was originally designed about 10 years ago. The project involves a USB-SSR08 which I have, and it was written in XP (but now on W10) so a lot of the VI’s aren’t working. I think some of it is that I don’t have ULx for LabVIEW installed.

I’m getting this error when trying to install the software I found on your website, do you have any advice?

Hello @travisn.

When reinstalling the ULx for NI LabVIEW option via the MCC DAQ software installation, verify that LabVIEW is not open.

Are you able to access the ULx help file in LabVIEW?

'..\National Instruments\LabVIEW 20xx\help\lvulx.chm'

The ULx for NI LabVIEW examples are in the '..\National Instruments\LabVIEW 20xx\examples\ULx' folder.

Do you have any earlier releases of LabVIEW on the target system?

Hello @travisn.

'ULx for NI Labview' is compatible with Windows 11 and with LabVIEW up to version 2021 at this time.  'ULx for NI LabVIEW' is currently not supported in LabVIEW 2022.

Be sure you are using MCCDAQ software v6.73 on the target system.

Lastly, if your legacy VI project was created with 'UL for LabVIEW', then that software is obsolete.

Thanks Fausto, I was able to download 2021 with my current license.

However, ULx does not show in LabVIEW as expected. I've tried to reinstall ULx and also rebooted my computer with no luck. The files seem to be in the right spot per the documentation you linked. What else should I try?
