Require Hardware description file (.XSA) for Vitis 2022.1.1

SuryaPrakash

Question

Hi,

I bought Digilent Zybo Z7-20 FPGA board , Since it is an EVM , I am hoping that I could get the Hardware description file (.XSA) for the Zybo Z7-20 FPGA board. I thought of using the Hardware description file in Vitis and create a hardware platform and develop my application code on top of that.

Please tell if there is any hardware description file available for Zybo Z7-20 FPGA board , for latest Vitis software version 2022.1.1 or if Hardware description file is available for any other version also , please tell me that.

Hi @SuryaPrakash,

You can get a .xsa by creating one in Xilinx's Vivado software (which should already be installed alongside Xilinx's Vitis software). Digilent has a basic guide that walks through creating an .xsa available here: https://digilent.com/reference/programmable-logic/guides/getting-started-with-ipi. Because each project has different applications and peripherals to be used, there isn't really a "one size fits all" hardware description file that can be generically provided (at least not without a list of caveats and limitations).

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,
JColvin
