Digital Discovery: Need to import SVF file and observe JTAG signals at output

HoWei

Question

In our lab we do have a digital discovey board.

We have the need to generate a SVF file and verify its behaviour on a GPIO-JTAG-interface (via oscilloscope first - later we might connect the JTAG GPIOs to the DUT).

We don't have any other device or tool that can import SVF files to verify the correctness of our custom generated SVF files.

Is there a tool or module that allows to import a SVF-file and play it with the digital discovery board  ?

Hi @HoWei,

The Digital Discovery nor WaveForms as far as I am aware is able to load/play out SVF files, though WaveForms can spy on JTAG signals through the Protocol tool.

As for actually sending out an SVF file, I uncertain as to what tool you might be able to use. Both the Xilinx software and the Digilent Adept software can program downstream devices with an SVF through the appropriate programming circuitry, but as I understand it neither software system will actually "send out" the SVF file without a compatible downstream device to receive it; I don't know if this an issue for you.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,
JColvin
