USB 2.0 Data Acquisition Device: 8 Analog In, 8 Digital I/O Question

Hiroshi Takahashi

Question

(1)What is the sampling rate / CH of the analog input?

(2)Is it possible to operate a Linux-based OS (Ubuntu, etc.)? Also, if it works, can the LabVIEW sample collection program be used on Linux?

Good day,

The maximum sampling rate per channel of the USB-12608FS-PLUS is 100 kS/s for any channel.

This device has 1 A/D converter per channel, and all selected channels (up to 8 on the device) are sampled simultaneously.

The maximum sampling rate for the device is 400 kS/s.  Meaning you can sample up to 4 channels at the per channel rate of 100 kS/s.

if you want to sample more than 4 channels, then you would divide the max rate for the device (400 kS/s) by the number of channels you select.

For more information on the abilities of the USB-1608FS-PLUS, please see the User's manual:  https://www.mccdaq.com/pdfs/manuals/USB-1608FS-Plus.pdf

"Is it possible to operate a Linux-based OS (Ubuntu, etc.)?" -Yes. Debian based Linux distributions such as Ubuntu, Raspberry Pi OS are supported.

"...can the LabVIEW sample collection program be used on Linux?" -Sorry no.  Linux support is only for C/C++ and Python.

For more information on what is supported, please see https://github.com/mccdaq/uldaq

Regards,

Jeffrey
