AD2 Suddenly Stops Working

boatem

Question

I'm a student that's been using my AD2 flawlessly for about almost 2 years, but yesterday it stopped being recognized by my windows computer.

How it happened:
It was unplugged from all circuits. I plugged in the USB connecter to my computer, and tried to get Waveforms to read it. Nothing happened, and Waveforms could not read the device.

What I've tried:
I tried restarting my pc, reinstalling waveforms, and updating windows.
I've also tried different USB cables, different ports, and a different computer.

Useful info:
It doesn't appear in 'device manager' in any capacity

Hi @boatem,

I have moved your question to a more appropriate section of the Forum.

Based on what you have described and tested, it may be a contact trace issue with the board, at least based on these other support threads I was able to find:

Potentially it could be a driver issue (as mentioned in the troubleshooting steps above), so it would be good to test that since you didn't directly mention this (though if you are encountering this issue on two separate computers, it may not resolve the issue).

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks,
JColvin

Thanks for the reply! Sorry for the late response on my end.

I looked through my pc's updates and there was a bios update that needed to be installed. I installed that, restarted the pc, and it worked!

Thanks for the tips, much appreciated
