ADP5250

RyanR

Question

I have a bunch of questions about the ADP520.  I'd prefer to just talk to somebody but that doesn't seem to be an option.  So, here are my questions:

First, a little background, I'm trying to create a logic analyzer with 64 channels for recording serial traffic for a long period of time.  I don't know how long, it's just for as long as I can.

1.  What is the lowest sample rate setting on this device?  What are the options between the lowest and highest?

2. Is there any compression performed on the data that's collected?

3. Does it just stream the data to a PC over USB or is there any memory on the device?

4. Is it feasible to use two of these attached to one computer for collecting 64 channels?  The timing between the two doesn't need to be in sync but I'm just wondering if the software will support two instances and how that would work exactly.

Hi @RyanD

The ADP5250 does not support recording.
The Analog Discovery and ADP3X50 can use internal digital data compression but have 16 DIOs.
The Digital Discovery can sample 32bits with 256MiB buffer but it does not use data compression.
