I cannot find the board files for the basys-2 board and believe that I need to put them in the vivado version install directory to allow me to choose the correct family (spartan 3 e , I believe) and part and package. they were not in the old section of master.zip. Once I can create the bit file I have the Adept software to configure the basys-2 board. I have already had success with the basys-3 board.
