Precise meaning of FDwfDigitalOutPlayDataSet arguments?

Guest

Question

Hi,

I am trying to understand the FDwfDigitalOutPlayDataSet (which is new in 3.17.1), in order to document it in pydwf.

The description of the function given on page 101 of the reference manual PDF ("Sets the divider value of the specified channel") is wrong, seems like a copy/paste mistake to me.

Then, to the arguments:

The rgBits argument specifies the digital data to be played. In what format is this? Perhaps the same as the FDwfDigitalOutDataSet function? Does it support tri-state output as well (and if so, how is that encoded)?

The bitsPerSample value, what does that indicate? Which bits go to which output channel? How does this parameter affect the interpretation of the rgBits data?

Best, Sidney
