Synchronization with a digital signal.

AntonioLorca

Question

Hello, I am trying to synchronize two devices using an Analog Discovery 2. One of the devices sends a TTL signal (digital signal) that serve as a trigger to control the second device. I was wondering if there is any example in Labview about synchronization and what are the advantages of the analog discovery 2 trigger gate over a digital input.

Hi @AntonioLorca

I received the following details from somebody more familiar with the WaveForms and LabVIEW integration:

Hello,

You can use the WaveForms SDK in LabVIEW. Check this guide: https://reference.digilentinc.com/reference/instrumentation/digital-discovery/controlling-digital-discovery-with-labview/start

You can find examples of synchronization with the WaveForms SDK in the WaveFormsSDK/samples/py library in the WaveForms installation path.

For further information about the available functions, check the FDwfDigitalOut and FDwfDigitalIO functions in the WaveForms SDK Reference Manual (https://reference.digilentinc.com/reference/software/waveforms/waveforms-sdk/reference-manual).

As my own question, what sort of devices are you wanting to synchronize? The example linked to earlier is between Analog Discovery Devices, we don't have any examples on synchronizing other devices.

Thanks,
JColvin
