Petalinux on Zybo Z7-10

Question

Hi,

After reading that PCAM 5C is supported in Zybo Z7-20 I was wondering if this is possible with Zybo Z7-10 ?

I saw the repository https://github.com/Digilent/Petalinux-Zybo-Z7-20 has some commits regarding PCAM 5C while https://github.com/Digilent/Petalinux-Zybo-Z7-10 is poorer.

Which device driver does Petalinux Z7-20 uses for opening and reading from camera ? is there some DPHY MIPI CSI/DSI IP in FPGA fabric or a software stack decoding MIPI signals?
How would be the approach to enable PCAM 5C streaming in Petalinux Zybo Z7-10?

Best regards

Hi @flying,

I believe you can implement it (or at least for the Pcam 5C demo, not necessarily the PetaLinux project, as per these two threads here and here). My understanding is that the Z7-10 simply didn't have enough space to also contain the debug portion of the CSI-2 IP core. Otherwise, I believe the Petalinux release uses V4L2 drivers to receive the Pcam inputs.

Let me know if you have any questions about this.

Thank you,
JColvin

Hi @JColvin,

Thanks for your reply.

I am trying Petalinux with Zybo-Z10 and PCam 5C.

I tried reproducing the setup from  here and listed my blockings if you could help.

Thanks and regards!
