Howto use the flash memory on NetFPGA-Sume Board?

Holger

Question

Hi,

I'm trying to figure out how I can use the onboard flash memory (PC28F512G18A) for my bitstream file. On the boards I used before I either had an parallel flash directly connected to the FPGA or the flash was inside the JTAG chain. But on the NetFPGA Board there is a CPLD (XC2C512) inbeteween the FPGA and the Flash Memory. I found a guide for the NetFPGA-10G Board, but it does not seem to fit to the SUME board.

https://github.com/NetFPGA/NetFPGA-public/wiki/NetFPGA-10G-Flash-Configuration

Quote

Before you install the board in the host PC, set the DIP switch **SW3 **(mode pins) as follows: This enables slave selectmap configuration interface.

**SW3**: M0, M1, M2 is set to off, on, on

On the SUME Board i couldn't locate the SW3 or something similar.

So, how can I programm the (not directly) attached flash memory with my FPGA firmware file?

Regards

Hi @Holger,

Digilent typically handles hardware issues for the NetFPGA Sume.. The NETFPGA Sume group here handles software, Demos and use of the Net FPGA Sume.  I would suggest contacting the NetFPGA group since they have more experience using the board. If you have not already registered with the NetFPGA Group the process can take a few business days.

thank you,

Jon
