Hello,

We are looking for a USB scope and currently learning about Discovery 2 to see if it fits our needs.

I'm writing in this thread because our main criteria for the USB scope is to be able to pull from it the measured signal continuously in real time so we can process it later on the computer.

We tried to check Discovery 2's data logging capabilities with 'Waveforms 3.12.1' by running a 'Demo Discovery 2' but we couldn't find an answer for all of our questions.

We would like to ask whether the data logging for Discovery 2 supports the following:

  1. Signal bandwidth is 200kHz. We would like to use sampling rate of at least 2Msps.
  2. We want to be able to record the measurement in real time into a file on the computer.
  3. The duration of the continuous recording should be at least 15 minutes without stopping (we didn't manage to record more than couple of seconds with the Demo Discovery 2)

We will appreciate your help with that.

Thanks,

Nir

Hi @nir

1. The maximum record rate is about 1MHz.
2. For such long record >10M samples the WF SDK should be used. You can find python examples in the SDK.
3. In the WF application the recording length is limited to 16M. This to keep the app responsive with the data processing and measurements performed by this.
