mishu
Hi, I am planning to design a custom FPGA board based on Artix-7 FPGA. The JTAG interface I plan to do it with FT2232HQ as ARTY-7 board. It it possible to get the firmware or project sources for the FT2232HQ to configure its EEPROM to work with JTAG and UART? Thanks in advance! xc6lx45
Hi Mishu, you don't need any for the hardware capability. For example, a terminal window to UART and xc3sprog for JTAG (edited with ARTIX IDCODE) will work. However: This will not be supported by Digilent tools. They require a licensed interface (that may then use a FT2232H but you cannot copy this design). For UART, alone, this is no problem. For JTAG debugging, you may consider to bring out an optional external JTAG port to temporarily connect a licensed adapter. I'm using this one, but there are others. zygot
@mishu, FTDI has quite a few application notes that should help.
jpeyron
Hi @mishu, The programming circuit is considered to be proprietary. Any further information about this circuit you would need to contact "support dot diligent at ni dot com" thank you, Jon
mishu
Hi, Sorry for late reply. I manage to find a solution, hence I will just buy the JTAG-SMT3 module which is FT2232HQ based and will do what I need it for. Best, Vlad
