kevinaussie
I have an Analog Discovery 2 that does not have any power LEDs when plugged in and the computer does not appear to detect it. Should I see any LEDs when power is applied to the DC socket without the USB plugged in? I have not had the device very long maybe 2 Months and it was working fine about 3 weeks ago. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks, Kevin
JColvin
HI @kevinaussie, The Analog Discovery 2 does not have any LEDs light up when only external power is attached with the USB plugged in. What do you see in the Device Manager (if you are using Windows) when you plug in your Analog Discovery 2 or does it appear at all? I presume when you bring up the WaveForms software and plug in your AD2, the software does not detect anything or does it report the AD2 as an unknown device? Thank you, JColvin
kevinaussie
Thanks for the reply. Nothing changes in Device Manager and I do not hear windows detect it when plugged in. I have also tried another computer and another USB cable. When I start Waveforms it does not show up either. I guess it was about 3 weeks ago it popped up as soon as I started Waveforms. Then I put it on a shelf and today I plugged it and nothing appears. Is there anything else I can do? I see below it says something about USB EEPROM being erased. attila
Hi @kevinaussie The "Device Fix" should be only used in case the device USB EEPROM was accidentally erase by other USB development tools, applications like FTDI/FT_Prog. Please verify in Windows Device Manage what device is detected on connection. The AD1/AD2/DD should be listed as "USB Serial Converter". Also verify the Properties/Driver version of this. kevinaussie
Thanks for the reply. This is what see in Device Manager The 2 USB test and Measurement device I have are 2 USB controlled power supplies. Nothing appears to change if it is plugged in or not. It is strange because when it was working it was fast to connect to the Waveforms program. Is there anything else I can test on the device? attila
Hi @kevinaussie Please try using a different USB cable and plug. If this does not help, test it with another computer.

attila
Hi @kevinaussie If nothing shows up in Windows Device Manager the device is probably damaged.
kevinaussie
That is what I was afraid of, I just thought maybe I was not performing a step in the process. Do you know if there is an RMA process? Kevin
