  1. JColvin, Thanks. It works now. Before running anything I checked device manager and it did say that they were (now, possibly not previously) Digilent USB devices. I did not have the Adept software installed, and now that it is installed it is found so I'm guessing this was the key. Also I had a previous installation of Vivado 2019.1 for an Arty A7 board on there, I had uninstalled it so that I could update and use this device. No other instances of hw_server were found in task manager.
  2. I've been trying to go through this tutorial on my new cmod S7 board: https://digilent.com/reference/programmable-logic/guides/getting-started-with-vivado. Everything has gone fine until trying to Open the Hardware Target. Nothing is found. (Note, this is in a fresh install of Vivado 2022.1). The board powers up fine into its demo program and is blinking away. In Device Manager, when connecting or disconnecting the USB connection, the USB Serial Port connection appears or disappears. Also under the USB controllers section, there are entries for USB Serial Converters A and B (two separate lines). Both recognize that the manf. of the controller is FTDI and state that the device is working properly. I've downloaded Tera Term and can open a connection to the COM4 USB serial port with no errors, but Vivado still does not see thigs hardware target. In searching some troubleshooting, I've seen that the USB cable can be finicky here so I've tried four different models of USB cable to connect to the device of varying lengths and manufacturer: 2 Amazon basics at 3 and 6 ft., a Tripp Lite 3 ft one, and a Belkin 4 ft. one. None of these has allowed the device to be seen, however, all appear to have the device found in Device Manager as described above. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.
