Having difficulty installing waveforms 2015

Recommended Posts

I finally got a moment to try out my new Openscope MZ.  Upon using the digilent.waveforms_3.6.8_amd64.deb package for, the install failed so I backed up a bit and attempted to install the adept.runtime also from digilent.adept.runtime_2.16.6-amd64.deb.  This appeared to install, at least the installer reported it installed but upon perusing the system.log I found the following:

What do I need to do to get this working?

Thanking you in advance,

Kristoff,  thank you for your offer of support.  I am a retired IT pro but not particularly experienced with Linux.

I have been trying to get the Digilent Agent running on my Ubuntu box.  I am currently running version 17.10 and the digilent-agent_1.0.1-1_amd64.deb install appears to work but I don't see the icon in the system tray.  What am I doing wrong?

Thanking you in advance,

Paul Richmond

Hey Paul,

The Digilent Agent doesn't automatically run on Linux.  You should by able to launch it from the terminal with the following command (sudo is only required for access to the serial hardware):

sudo digilent-agent

You'll need to do this each time you reboot to start the agent, or setup a CRON job or similar to automate it.

Let us know if you have any questions about this.

Thanks!

-Kristoff
