Analog Discovery Waveform Generator for RIAA Curve

sfox7076

Question

I love my AD2, but wonder if there is a way to use the math function of the wave form generator to create a sweep that acts like an inverse RIAA curve.  The RIAA curve is the equalization method used to cut vinyl records for playback (bass reduced, treble boosted so that they could fit more songs on one record and minimize distortion).  Essentially, it alters the gain of the recording at certain frequencies.  Then, when you play it back, your phono preamplifier reverses out the gain changes made and plays the record as intended.  To test out a phono preamplifier, one usually builds an inverse RIAA curve and then sweeps 10hz-40khz to check the response of the curve.  You hope that you are dead flat from 20-20khz when you do that sweep.  The issue I have is I would like to alter the gain coming out of the AD2 in accordance with the RIAA curve.  Can this be done?  More reading on the RIAA curve and the the gain equation can be found here:   http://www.bonavolta.ch/hobby/en/audio/riaa.htm
