chipKIT with Matlab - Simulink - Labview

jbarragan

Question

Hello everybody

I'm new with the chipKIT and Arduino like boards. Also I'm a Dynamic Systems teacher and use Matlab/Simulink in classroom to simulate mathematical models of physical systems (nothing new). I read about the Matlab support for Arduino boards and it's potential in classroom.

What I need to know is if chipKIT can be used with Matlab/Simulink as an Arduino, or some modifications has to be made in software.

I hope that someone has already answer this question.

Best Regards

Is this the software you are speaking about?

I suppose it depends on the links they have with Simulink at which level.

My first response will be to say, yes, Matlab could most likely be used without any issue (since the hardware and software are extremely compatible). However simulink will require modification of the blocks.

About a year ago this thread popped up on chipKIT.net, but it doesn't look like there was any additional traction.

We could try and re-activate the thread on the chipKIT.net forums and see if there has been any new developments since?

ALthough in your post, you don't mention LabVIEW, but you do in your title, we actually are working www.labVIEWHacker.com and have chipKIT + LabVIEW interfaced very nicely.

We have shown this as a demo at many of our shows.
